Montenegro Travel Guide
Montenegro is a small but stunningly beautiful and geographically very diverse country. It encompasses an area of 13812 square kilometers. In recent years it has proven as a hot spot for holidaymakers and property investors.
It is a country of rare contrasts, with 300km of coastline it borders the clear blue waters of the Adriatic and boasts over 70 km of some of the cleanest beaches in Europe. Seaside resorts of Kotor, Budva, Sveti Stefan and Ulcinj come to life in the spring and summer months and are increasingly featuring on the list of ‘Must Visit Places’ for many celebrities as well as ordinary holidaymakers.
To the north is the Durmitor National park, a UNESCO listed site. An area of dense forest, and crisp alpine air with 21 peaks over 2200 m high, very popular with skiing, snowboarding, trekking, mountaineering, fishing and white water rafting.
Montenegro has a wealth of plant and animal species, crystal clear rivers, deep canyons, well preserved Greek and Roman sites, mild Mediterranean climate, UNESCO listed sites, history and culture coupled by warm hospitality all within a 3 hour flight from most European cities.
There is something here for everyone, you can ski in the morning, and sun- bathe by some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe in the afternoon. It is rare to find a country so diverse with all this and much more, accessible within a 2 1/2 hour internal drive.
