The best way to travel to Montenegro is by air. Montenegro is served by three airports: Podgorica, Tivat and Dubrovnik(Croatia).

Airport Podgorica:

located just 11 km from the capital of Montenegro, this is the largest airport in Montenegro.

There are daily scheduled flights to Belgrade as well as other European cities such as Frankfurt, Zurich, Rome, Paris, Moscow, Kiev, Budapest, Ljubljana, Vienna. During the summer season there are many charter flights and air connections to all major cities of the world.

Airport Tivat:

This is the ideal choice of arrival to visit the Montenegro coast. It is located only 20 km from the metropolis of Budva and less that 10 km from Kotor.

From June 2008 there is a twice weekly flight to Stanstead London. During the summer season there are charter flights to major cities of Europe and the world.

Airport of Cilipi (Dubrovnik):

This airport is 14 km from the Montenegrin border and has a good choice of scheduled as well as chartered flights, with some budget airlines.

Transfer buses are available from Dubrovnik Airport to various tourist destinations throughout Monetengro.

Basics

The two international airports in Montenegro – Podgorica and Tivat – meet basic aviation requirements and have reserve runway and landing strip capacity.

From a tourism point of view, though, there are considerable shortcomings at the terminals. They are in need of basic modernization and extension to cope with demand.
